Binod Agarwal of SGR Group shares his outlook for India's kharif crop. He talks through production prospects, the impact of delayed rains, and the likelihood of key tariff changes over the months to come.

Late on Friday night, India time, May 30th, 2025, the Government of India dropped a notification that’s making ripples across global agri-markets. The free import policy for yellow peas has been extended to March 31st, 2026. Now, on paper, it may seem like a routine extension. But if you look closely, this move might be more strategic than it appears.

We sat down with Harsha Rai of Mayur Global to talk through India's lagging rabi sowing, weather losses in the kharif urad and mung crops, whether import duty relief is coming, and why buyers of chickpeas, lentils and light speckled kidney beans (LSKBs) may face firmer prices ahead.

We chat to Brian Clancey, Owner of Stat Publishing, to get his insights into this year’s pulse markets, discussing fears of oversupply, changes to US trade policy, and what to expect from Indian import duties.
