Kintal Islamov, CEO of producer and trader, Atameken Agro, talks about his expectations for this year’s Kazakhstani pulse crops, a move into green lentils, and the exciting potential of the country’s mung bean production.
This year we shipped mostly to Turkey, but we also signed a few contracts with the UAE – around 16,000 MT of lentils to the UAE and 30,000 MT to Turkey. Atameken mainly deals in red lentils, but last year we got green lentil seeds and multiplied them ready to grow both small and big sizes this year.
