1) So far, so good for pulse seedings

As of right now, I don't see any problems with the seedings – there are no floods, no drought, or excess rains. Everything is going smoothly, especially compared to last year where we had heavy rains and flooding. This year, all of the key areas – chickpeas in Saratov and Volgograd, lentils in the Altai region, and yellow peas in the south and Siberia – have seen nothing out of the ordinary.

There is a report this morning (May 15) of 100,000 ha of different commodities lost due to low temperatures and planes, but there is no separation of how many hectares were pulses, so it seems it will not affect new crop of peas/chickpeas/lentils much.
