Volumes are expected to double

According to data from the Commerce Department, India’s imports are expected to see a sharp rise compared to the previous year. This is the breakdown: 

• Desi chana (Gram): Imports are anticipated to rise by 0.44 million tonnes to reach 0.57 mmt (last year 0.131).
• Black matpe (Urad): A moderate increase of 0.167 million tonnes is expected to reach 0.765 mmt (last Year 0.598).
