With March seedings approaching, farmers and traders watch the skies as drought, erratic rains, and heat threaten Argentina's bean crop.


Argentina's pulse industry is hoping 2025 will bring a reboot. Chickpea exports were strong this year, reporting 62% growth YoY, but chickpea production was still 6% below the average of the previous five cycles. Beans are coming off the back of three years of poor yields due to drought. Farmers and traders are anxiously watching the skies ahead of March seedings as drought, badly-timed rains and high temperatures have plagued Argentina's bean production of late. Heat and moisture remain a concern as we enter seeding season – so much so, farmers have moved the seeding dates to compensate.
