Pulses acreage is up 26% year-on-year, reaching a new record that includes a 17% rise in pea acreage to 1.9 million hectares. As the authorities only provide seperate figures for peas out of all pulses, we can safely assume that the acreage for chickpeas, lentils and vetches has also increased substantially.
